Bhubaneswar, 13.01.2021(SANDHAN NEWS):- Bringing relief for Class 10 students in Odisha appearing for Matriculation examination this year, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed officials to waive the fee for filling up of the examination form. More than six lakh students of the State will be benefitted with the fee waiver decision of the government, said a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office. The State government will bear Rs 27 crore from exchequer following its decision to waive the Matriculation exam fee. Worth mentioning, each Class X student appearing for the Matriculation exam this year was supposed to pay Rs 420 towards examination fee this year. The CMO statement said no student will be barred from appearing the Matriculation exam due to monetary reason. Earlier in the day, Biju Chhatra Janata Dal’s State President Debi Ranjan Tripathy requested the Chief Minister to consider waiving the examination fee.Most of the Class 10 students are not in a position to pay the fee while filling up the form to appear in Matriculation examination this year due to the pandemic situation, the letter read. The Matriculation exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha is scheduled to begin from May 3 this year.
