Balasore, 09.01.2021(Sandhan news/ Lingaraj Panda):- A police official was suspended for allegedly taking bribe and misbehaving with media reporters in Balasore district. Bhaktahari Patnaik, the ASI of Kamarda Police Station, has been placed under suspension on allegation of bribery and misbehaviour with media personnel, informed Balasore SP Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra in a press meet today.
According to reports, ASI Patnaik had accepted bribe of Rs 2,000 each from two complainants for investigation into cases a few days ago. However, one of the complainants wanted his money back from Patnaik after the ASI did not resolve a case. Reacting to it, the ASI threatened him in front of the police station. He allegedly misbehaved with a few news correspondents, who were recording the incident. The matter was probed by the Additional SP Manoranjan Samal. Based on the investigation report, ASI Patnaik was suspended from job.
